A Multiple Tooth Implant Can Give You a New Smile
When it comes to replacing missing teeth and restoring the smile to people's faces, there might be two medical options available, but the more durable choice is a multiple tooth implant. A dental implant might sound dangerous and painful. Still, it is a one-time process requiring no further procedures or surgeries to complement provided the implants are properly taken care of.
As you might have guessed, though, the procedure to fix such implants would involve some drilling as well as the implantation of titanium into the jaw. This titanium would serve as a replacement for damaged tooth roots. This would come in handy regardless of how the missing teeth might have been lost.
Advantages of multiple tooth implants
The alternative procedure to the use of implants in the replacement of teeth is using dental bridges. However, dental bridges would involve removing the enamel of the surrounding teeth to facilitate the attachment of a crown for the fake teeth (pontic).
On the other hand, dental implants don't have such a requirement, and as a further advantage, they have maintained the chewing power of the teeth and look like other teeth. This is a big reason why multiple tooth implants are usually advised when multiple teeth are missing, as they would lead to no significant loss of biting power.
Other advantages of tooth implants
- They fit into the jaw comfortably and can help enhance/ maintain facial structure, bone structure, and even the stability of other nearby teeth. Furthermore, they are more secure and stable in the gums than dental bridges because of their titanium roots.
- They do not need to be done more than once, nor do they need any restorations or scheduled maintenance. Their similarities to regular teeth extend beyond the superficial as they can be subjected to the same care routine as regular teeth. Provided this care is not neglected or inadequate, it will last for life.
- Their presence would prevent the bone loss that could occur because of missing teeth. Typically, in the absence of teeth, the body tends to reabsorb some jawbones into the body. Still, osteointegration between the jawbone and titanium implants should prevent that from happening.
Choosing tooth implants for a brighter smile
Many physical effects could be experienced due to missing teeth, including chewing problems and shifting other teeth. Still, one understated impact of missing teeth is what it does to self-esteem.
Losing part of your dentition could have detrimental effects on self-esteem, leading to damaging self-consciousness. However, all of this could be avoided and rectified with a few implants to replace your teeth and return your confidence. Thus, perhaps the most significant advantage of multiple tooth replacements is returning natural smiles to the faces of many.
For all purposes (including aesthetics), they would serve like regular teeth, retain the stability of normal teeth and, most importantly, look like regular teeth.
